The Wall of Inspiration has been a part of Albert Lea High School since 2004, created by the Kuphal family to honor members of the school community who have inspired others to achieve more than they believed possible. The wall was established in memory of Josh Kuphal, an Albert Lea High School graduate who inspired many of his peers. Although Josh has passed away, his legacy endures through this meaningful tribute. The motto of the wall is, 'Be the change you want to see.' This motto serves as a guiding principle for living a life marked by kindness, generosity of time and energy, and selflessness — putting others before oneself. Today Principal Kenis celebrated the students' achievement of reaching their goal in Sibley's "Stroll For A Goal" by hugging a goat, a reward they earned through their hard work.

Kindergartners dove into reading the story Boxitects with Mrs. Seeger during a recent Media lesson. Students used their imaginations and made creations from cardboard. Their unique designs allowed them to explore and be creative through hands-on play, fostering a love for STEM concepts in a fun and interactive way.

We’re excited to announce the addition of a Dining link to the AL Tigers Unite app! You can now easily access school breakfast and lunch menus directly from the app, keeping you informed of meal options for your students. Simply tap the Dining link from the app’s menu to view the latest menus and plan ahead for the week.

We would like to update parents and guardians on a social media post that has been misinterpreted across the nation.  When we learned of this initial post that had a school named Southwest on it, we immediately contacted our school resource officers, Officer Huse & Officer Conn. Upon investigating, we were informed that there is an underperforming list of Georgia schools circling around Snapchat.  The “targeted assistance” list included a school named Southwest Middle School that was to receive targeted academic supports.  Unfortunately, the misinformation led to some putting this information on social media with the wrong information and context.  At no point were Albert Lea Area Schools identified nor in danger.   We will continue to make our students and staff our top priority by ensuring their safety. We value and appreciate the support from Albert Lea Police Department and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and will continue to partner with them to ensure the safety of students and staff members.   Thank you for your continued support of the Albert Lea Area Schools.
